Parmelia Hilton

ZMH was commissioned by the Hilton group to design the soft refurbishment of the functions floor level. Consisting of ballrooms, boardrooms and lobby spaces, critical design factors included acoustics, maintenance, durability and the global standards and aesthetic of the Hilton brand. Boardrooms were lined with dark grey fabric panels for acoustic privacy and to express a quiet, corporate environment; conversely, the ballrooms were lined with shades of soft grey and ivory creating a classical background for wedding receptions; and the function lobby spaces incorporated mirrored wall paneling to give the illusion of space to an often crowded room. Within this design framework, door treatments were coded to guide guests to public spaces through the timber look doors, and staff through the uniform grey back of house areas.
